This spring wedding theme editorial is drenched with flowers!
Dogwoods were the star of the day and are also the state flower of North Carolina, where the shoot took place. The team wanted to marry the old with the new. The state flower, the flowering Dogwood, was established as such in the mid 20th century. They honored the integrity of the historic, restored building yet brought modernity to it with acrylic pieces, from the invitation to menus and ghost chairs. The bride wore a dress with blue tulle underlays bringing a pop of color reminiscent of the Carolina blue skies to her wedding day look. Her hair was organic and ethereal. The groom wore a patterned suit coat and blue bow tie. Velvet shoes finished his look, and a boutonniere complimented her spring bouquet, which contained brightly colored yellow roses, sweet peas, dahlias, and dogwoods. The bridesmaid wore a modern strapless jumpsuit instead of a traditional gown.
