When I received the initial enquiry for this cake combining two of my favourite elements, and the most stunning venue, I knew I really really wanted to make it. I like to call this the Drip it Baby! cake as gold drips were the main feature of this stunning semi naked cake.
This one isn’t for the faint hearted or for a cake where time is of the essence, the gold drips look hours to create. To begin Belgian white chocolate was tempered and dripped over the semi naked coating then once set each individual drip was painted with edible gold lustre. I never thought I’d get it finished but it was worth every minute of work.
Coupled with lilac roses it was just perfect, and the venue provided the most stunning back drop with walls lined with fabric decorated with a gold design, it was as if it was made for the cake.
